Additional Drivers

Our Role as a Broker and Agent
YORK Car Rental acts solely as a broker and agent, providing a car rental affiliate reservation system for the convenience of you, the customer, and the locally owned and operated rental companies. We arrange and confirm your vehicle reservation with a local rental provider, but we do not supply the vehicle ourselves.

When you make a booking through us, you will enter into a direct rental agreement with the rental company at the time of vehicle collection. The terms, conditions, and applicable laws governing the rental will be those set out in the rental contract presented at the rental location.

In the event of any conflict between these Booking Terms and the rental company’s terms, the supplier’s terms will take precedence in relation to the vehicle rental itself.

We use reasonable commercial efforts to ensure the accuracy of all information published on our website or distributed through third-party platforms; however, we cannot guarantee that all details are free from errors or omissions. Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount of rental charges paid to us.

Additional drivers may operate the rental vehicle for a fee of $20 per day. All additional drivers must be at least 25 years of age and must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance at the time of rental.

The additional driver fee will be waived for a spouse, provided that both individuals share the same address and last name and are listed on the same insurance policy.

After Hours Returns

Please return the rental vehicle to our office at:
9750 Airport Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90045 (located behind the main building).

Return Directions:
Enter through the driveway on Airport Blvd. Upon entering, turn left, take a parking entrance ticket, and follow the posted signs to the rear of the building. Our rental office is located on the right-hand side inside the back entrance of the building. Park the vehicle in the designated area and return both the parking entrance ticket and the vehicle key to the attendant. A return inspection will be completed, and the finalized rental agreement will be sent to you via email.

Courtesy Shuttle Service to LAX:

Monday–Friday: First shuttle at 9:30 AM; last shuttle at 11:30 PM
Saturday: First shuttle at 9:30 AM; last shuttle at 4:30 PM
Sunday: Closed (no shuttle service available)

After-Hours Returns:
After-hours returns are subject to a one-time fee of $45. Please park the vehicle, take the required photos, secure the vehicle, and place the key in the designated drop box located at the office entrance.

Important:
Renters are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of transportation outside of the listed courtesy shuttle hours.

Coverages

Insurance Requirements and Responsibilities

Insurance coverage is not included in the rental rates. Total charges reflect the rental amount and applicable taxes only.

Renters are required to provide a valid insurance declaration page prior to the rental. The declaration page must be emailed to support@ampmcarrentals.com
. It is the renter’s responsibility to maintain active and valid insurance coverage that meets all state and financial responsibility requirements for the entire duration of the rental period.

The insurance policy must be valid for at least 30 days prior to the rental start date and remain active for at least 30 days after the rental end date. International insurance policies issued by companies without a physical presence in the United States are not accepted. Insurance policies issued in the United States or Canada are acceptable. Renters may also have their insurance provider send the policy documentation directly to ampmcarrentals@gmail.com

Required Insurance Coverage

All renters must maintain valid auto liability insurance. Basic Auto Liability Insurance may be purchased at the rental counter for $29.99 to $39.99 per day, subject to eligibility.

Renters under the age of 25 or over the age of 65 must have full coverage insurance in their own name. Please note that rental counter insurance cannot be sold to individuals in these age groups.

If purchasing insurance through the rental company at the time of pickup, the coverage provided is limited to Basic Rental Car Liability Insurance. This coverage satisfies the minimum requirements under California law, which include:

Bodily injury liability: $30,000 per person / $60,000 per accident
Property damage liability: $15,000 per accident

If insurance has been purchased through a third-party provider (e.g., Allianz, Travel Guard, Generali, etc.), renters must forward the policy details and confirmation to ampmcarrentals@gmail.com
prior to the rental.

Accidents, Damage, or Theft Procedures

In the event of an accident, damage, or theft involving the rental vehicle, please follow these steps:

Contact our office immediately at 310-216-0000 (Ext. 8) (24/7 support available)
In case of injury or emergency, call 911 immediately
Notify local law enforcement and file an official report
Take clear photographs of all vehicles involved, the accident scene, and any visible damage

Collect the following information:

Names, addresses, and phone numbers of all drivers, passengers, and witnesses
Driver’s license numbers
Vehicle descriptions and license plate numbers
Insurance company names and policy numbers for all involved parties

Do not admit fault or accept responsibility at the scene, as liability will be determined after investigation.

All collected information and documentation must be submitted to support@ampmcarrentals.com
as soon as possible.

Cross Border Restrictions

Travel Restrictions, Payment Policy, and Vehicle Use Terms

Travel Eligibility and Geographic Restrictions
Renters presenting a valid boarding pass and return airline ticket at the time of pickup are permitted to operate the rental vehicle within the states of California and Nevada only.

Renters without a boarding pass and return airline ticket are restricted to driving within a 100-mile radius of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Use of the rental vehicle outside the permitted areas is strictly prohibited. Any unauthorized travel will result in significant penalties, including but not limited to:

A minimum charge of $3,000, plus $0.39 per mile and $85 per day from the first day of rental for travel within the Western United States outside the permitted states
Up to $5,000, plus $0.39 per mile and $85 per day from the first day of rental for travel to the Midwest or East Coast regions

Vehicles are authorized for use within California and Nevada only. Any travel outside the designated zone may incur a minimum penalty of $2,000, plus $0.39 per mile, in addition to the daily rental charges and a penalty fee of $85 per day from the start of the rental period.

Travel to Mexico or any country outside the United States is strictly prohibited and will result in penalties starting at $3,000, in addition to all applicable mileage and daily penalty fees.

Breakdown and Unauthorized Travel Liability
No roadside assistance or support will be provided for breakdowns occurring outside the authorized travel area. In such cases, the renter assumes full responsibility for all costs associated with vehicle recovery, including transportation and repossession back to our Los Angeles rental location. All such costs must be paid in advance.

Vehicle Eligibility by Payment Method

Major Credit Cards: Required for renting Minivans, SUVs, Full-Size Vans, and Premium vehicles
Debit Cards: Accepted only for Compact, Intermediate, and Full-Size sedans, subject to a one-time non-refundable $100 debit card fee

Cleaning and Damage Policy
A minimum charge of $500 will apply for any vehicle returned with evidence of:

Pet hair or residue
Smoke odor or smoking-related residue

Additional charges may apply for any interior damage resulting from pets, smoking, or misuse of the vehicle.

Financial Policy

Payment, Deposit, and Rental Policy

Accepted Forms of Payment
We accept all major credit cards issued by nationally recognized banks (e.g., Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover from institutions such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo, or Chase).

Debit cards are not accepted from local renters or renters under the age of 25. When accepted, debit card usage is subject to the following conditions:

Must display a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover logo and be issued by a major U.S. bank
A one-time, non-refundable fee of $100 will be applied
Must be in the renter’s name and match all rental documents
Renter must present a valid boarding pass and return airline ticket issued on the day of rental
Additional documentation required: two recent utility bills, latest pay stub, and company ID

Debit, prepaid, or cash cards are not accepted for Minivans, SUVs, Full-Size Vans, Premium, Luxury, or Electric vehicles.

Rental Requirements

All cards and identification must be in the same name as the primary driver
A valid boarding pass and return airline ticket are required at the time of rental
A security deposit ranging from $200 to $1,000 (or higher depending on vehicle and renter profile) is required in addition to the total rental cost prior to vehicle release

Local renters or renters without a return airline ticket are subject to a minimum $1,000 deposit and additional restrictions, including:

Limited to 50 miles per day
Driving restricted to the Los Angeles area (within a 25-mile radius)
Debit cards are not accepted

Prepaid Reservations
All prepaid reservations are non-refundable, non-changeable, and will be marked as a no-show if the vehicle is not picked up at the scheduled date and time. No refunds will be issued for cancellations under any circumstances.

Any eligible refunds may take up to 15 business days to process. Funds may not be available until released by your financial institution.

Additional Charges and Extensions

Additional rental days: minimum $75 per day, plus applicable daily rates
Delinquent rentals (not prepaid): minimum $85 per day, retroactive from the first day, plus a $200 administrative fee
Only two extensions may be processed over the phone; further extensions require the renter to return to the office with the vehicle

If the vehicle is returned by someone other than the authorized renter, a $50 fee will apply.

Vehicle Maintenance Responsibility
For rentals exceeding 7 days or 500 miles, the renter is responsible for monitoring and maintaining fluid levels. Alternatively, the vehicle may be brought to our office during business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) for inspection.

Underage Rental Policy (Under 25 Years)
Renters under 25 years of age:

May rent Economy (ECAR) and Intermediate (ICAR) vehicles only
Must present a major credit card
Must provide valid full coverage insurance

Premium, Luxury, SUV, and Electric Vehicle Policy

Minimum renter age: 30 years
Major credit card and verifiable full coverage insurance required (insurance declaration page with endorsement)
$1,000 security deposit required
If purchasing insurance through the rental company: $75–$150 per day (with a $10,000 deductible)
Driving permitted within California and Nevada only; violations incur penalties of up to $750 per day (maximum $3,000)
Minimum 2 days advance booking required
A non-refundable $1,000 deposit is charged at booking and applied toward the rental total
Electric vehicles are provided with approximately 75% battery charge at pickup

Authorized Drivers Only
Only drivers listed on the rental agreement are permitted to operate the vehicle.

Cleaning and Liability
The renter assumes full responsibility for the vehicle during the rental period. Our maximum liability is limited to the total rental amount paid by the renter.

Local Traveller Restrictions

Local Renter Policy, Mileage Limits, and Travel Restrictions

Eligibility Without Boarding Pass and Return Ticket
Renters who are not arriving at LAX Airport and do not present a valid boarding pass and return airline ticket are subject to the following restrictions:

Limited to 50 miles per day
Driving restricted to within a 25-mile radius of the rental location

Optional upgrades are available to remove these restrictions:

Unlimited mileage and expanded travel within California and Nevada may be purchased for $30 to $50 per day, depending on vehicle class

Geographic Restrictions
All vehicles are authorized for use within California and Nevada only. Travel outside the permitted area is strictly prohibited and will result in penalties including:

Minimum charge of $2,000, plus $0.39 per mile
Additional penalty of $85 per day, applied from the first day of the rental

Travel to Mexico or any country outside the United States is strictly prohibited and will incur penalties starting at $3,000, in addition to all applicable mileage and daily penalty charges.

Local Renter Requirements (California Residents)
Local renters, or those without a boarding pass and return airline ticket matching the rental dates, must provide:

Two fully paid (non-delinquent) utility bills
Two forms of employment verification (including the most recent pay stub)

Debit cards are not accepted from local renters.

A security deposit ranging from $500 to $1,000 is required in addition to the rental charges.

Mileage Policy
Additional mileage beyond the included limit will be charged between $0.39 and $0.79 per mile, depending on the vehicle class.

Optional unlimited mileage packages are available as follows:

Sedans: $30 per day
Compact and Mid-Size SUVs: $45 per day
Minivans, Full-Size SUVs, and Luxury Vehicles: $85 per day

Additional Terms
Additional rules and restrictions may apply to local renters and underage drivers. Exceeding the daily mileage limit or violating geographic restrictions (including travel outside California and Nevada) will result in penalties and fees exceeding $2,000.

Other

Reservations, Changes, Vehicle Conditions, and General Policies

Reservation and No-Show Policy
Reservations not honored within 2 hours of the scheduled pickup time may be considered a no-show and are subject to cancellation without guarantee of availability. If your travel plans change or are delayed, you must contact the rental office in advance. Additional charges may apply, and all modifications are subject to availability.

Prepaid Reservations
All prepaid reservations are non-refundable and non-changeable. No refunds will be issued under any circumstances, including cancellations or no-shows.

Changes to Reservation
A minimum fee of $75, plus any applicable rate difference, will apply to changes in rental date or time. All changes are subject to availability and approval and may not be possible in certain cases.

Vehicle Condition and Availability
All vehicles are cleaned to a reasonable standard prior to rental. If dissatisfied with cleanliness, renters may obtain a standard car wash and submit a receipt for a one-time reimbursement of up to $12 per rental.

Vehicle make, model, year, and color (interior/exterior) are not guaranteed and may vary.

Cleaning and Smoking Policy

Smoking of any kind (including cigarettes, vaping, or other substances) is strictly prohibited
A minimum cleaning fee of $500 up to $1,000 will be charged for any evidence of smoke, odor, ash, or residue
A minimum $500 cleaning fee also applies for pet hair, odor, or related residue
Fees may be assessed after vehicle return if issues are identified later

Vehicle Use and Responsibility

Only authorized drivers listed on the rental agreement may operate the vehicle
If the vehicle is returned by anyone other than the authorized renter, a $50 fee will apply
Renters are responsible for tire and windshield damage, including flats, punctures, and battery issues. Roadside assistance charges may apply (AAA membership is recommended)

For rentals exceeding 7 days or 500 miles, renters must monitor and maintain fluid levels or bring the vehicle to the office for inspection during business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM).

Damage and Claims
All damages (major or minor) must be reported immediately. Renters must:

Take photos of the damage
Email documentation to the rental office promptly
File a claim with their insurance provider without delay
Complete all required claim documentation and cooperate fully

Failure to comply may result in additional penalties or charges.

Rental Extensions

Extension requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance
Extensions are subject to availability and updated rates
Only two extensions may be processed over the phone
Additional extensions require the renter to be present at the office with the vehicle

A minimum gap of 5 business days is required between separate online reservations.

Usage and Restrictions
Vehicles are permitted for use within California and Nevada only. Unauthorized travel outside this region will result in penalties of at least $2,000 plus $0.39 per mile for all miles driven during the rental period.

Additional Policies

Duplicate reservations under the same name may be canceled
Each reservation must be under a unique renter name with valid original documentation (driver’s license, credit card, and insurance)
No refunds for unused fuel, early returns, or unused rental time
All vehicles are automatic transmission only (manual/stick shift vehicles are not available)

Booster/Child Seats
Booster or child seats are available upon request at the rental counter for approximately $7.99 to $12.99 per day.

Premium, Luxury, SUV, and Electric Vehicle Policy

Minimum renter age: 30 years
Major credit card and verifiable full coverage insurance required (declaration page with endorsement)
$1,000 security deposit required
Optional in-house insurance: $75–$150 per day (with $10,000 deductible)

Conduct Policy
Failure to comply with rental requirements, provide necessary documentation, follow policies, or maintain respectful conduct (including the use of abusive or inappropriate language) may result in denial of service without refund.

Pick Up Instructions

Shuttle and Pickup Instructions (LAX Location)

Step 1: Airport Shuttle to Rental Facility
Upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), proceed to the lower-level outer curb (Arrivals level). Wait under the Pink LAX Shuttle sign and board the “Lot E Shuttle.”

Once onboard, please inform the driver that you are traveling to the Remote Rental Car Depot.

Step 2: Directions from Remote Rental Car Depot
After arriving at the Remote Rental Car Depot, carefully cross the street. Our location is situated inside the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel, located at 9620 Airport Blvd., and is the third building on the right-hand side.

Upon entering the hotel:

Walk past the front desk/check-in counters
Continue to the end of the lobby
Take the garage elevator to the 4th floor, where our rental office is located

Please follow all posted signage or contact our office if additional assistance is required.

Plate Pass

Toll Road Policy and Traffic Violations (LAX / Los Angeles)

Toll Road Usage
A one-time fee of $25 is required at the start of the rental to enroll in our toll program. This allows you to use toll roads without incurring additional penalties and ensures that only the actual toll charges are billed.

Please note:

Toll roads in California are fully electronic (no cash booths or barriers)
Only vehicles with registered transponders or toll accounts are permitted

Failure to enroll in the toll program will result in violations. In such cases, you may be charged approximately $75 per toll occurrence, in addition to the actual toll amount.

Traffic Violations and Citations
If you receive any traffic violation, parking ticket, or citation while operating the rental vehicle, you are required to pay or address the violation within 24 hours, even if you intend to contest it.

If a violation is forwarded to our office:

A $100 administrative fee will be charged
This fee is in addition to the original ticket amount, penalties, and any late fees imposed by the issuing authority
Total costs may increase significantly, often ranging from $100 to $500 or more depending on the violation

Prompt handling of all violations is strongly recommended to avoid additional charges and penalties.

Refueling Policy

Fuel Policy

Renters are required to return the vehicle with the same fuel level as provided at the time of pickup.

If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than provided, a refueling charge will apply at a rate of $9 per gallon, plus a $25 service fee. Total refueling charges will range from a minimum of $34 up to $175, depending on the amount of fuel required.

For convenience, renters may choose to prepay for fuel at the time of pickup at current or slightly discounted local gas prices.

Renter Qualifications

Rental Eligibility and Required Documents

To complete your rental, the following documents must be physically presented at the time of pickup. Copies, expired, or damaged documents are not accepted:

Valid Driver’s License in the name of the driver
Proof of Full Coverage Insurance
Major Credit Card (Amex, Visa, MasterCard; debit, prepaid, or cash cards are not accepted)
Passport (may be required for non-U.S. residents)
Rental Confirmation Email

Underage and Age-Restricted Drivers

Minimum rental age: 21 years
Drivers under 25 years are considered underage and subject to a $25/day underage fee
Underage drivers must carry full coverage insurance and a major credit card
Debit cards are not accepted for underage drivers
Allowed vehicle classes for drivers under 25: Economy (ECAR), Compact (CCAR), Intermediate (ICAR) sedans only
Vans, SUVs, and other high-occupancy vehicles are not available for underage renters

Senior Drivers (Over 65 Years)

Must present a major credit card and valid insurance at the time of rental

Geographic Restrictions

Vehicles may be driven only within California and Nevada
Exception: Renters presenting a valid boarding pass and return airline ticket matching the rental pickup and drop-off dates may follow applicable airline-based travel allowances

Additional Rules
Additional restrictions may apply for local renters and age-restricted drivers. All rentals are subject to eligibility verification at the time of pickup.
